Suzie GuthridgeSuzie Guthridge – Green Building Council of Australia

Suzie is an Executive Director of the Green Building Council of Australia responsible for activities and growth in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. She has been involved with the GBCA since its inception in 2002. She began volunteering her time as a founding member of the marketing committee and in 2004 was appointed as the first Business Development and Marketing Manager.

Suzie has been instrumental in the growth and strategy of the GBCA and also works closely with the World Green Building Council to support the emergence of other councils around the world.

Originally from Western Australia, Suzie moved to Sydney in 2001 in the role of National Marketing Manager for one of Australia’s largest accounting firms. She graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Commerce (marketing and public relations) in 1995

 

Dominic SnellgroveDominic Snellgrove

Cameron Chisholm Nicol

Dominic studied at the Architecture Association in London and has worked in Berlin, London, Sydney and more recently in Perth.

In Berlin, Dominic worked on projects in the former East Berlin including competition winning work for the reconstruction of Potsdammer Platz. Whilst in London he worked on a series of low energy sustainable office buildings before moving to Sydney in the late 90's where he was employed by Lend Lease as the concept and design architect for 30 The Bond, the new 5 Star SEDA rated Lend Lease headquarters in Sydney.

In early 2004 Dominic moved to Perth with his family to take up a position as Director with Cameron Chisholm Nicol where he is currently the CCN Director responsible for the new Perth Arena, a project which CCN is undertaking in joint venture with the Melbourne based architects ARM

"William Street - Acquisition and Heritage Challenges"

Danny NimbalkerDanny Nimbalker - LandCorp

Danny J Nimbalker has approximately 18 years experience in the property industry working predominantly in property valuations, feasibility analysis, development appraisals, and consultancy.

He is currently LandCorp’s Business Development Manager. Before joining LandCorp he worked for Jones Lang La Salle as a Senior Valuer responsible for undertaking a range of commercial, industrial and land development properties throughout WA.

Prior to joining Jones La Salle, Danny worked at the Valuer General’s Office as a Senior Valuer providing valuation and consultancy advice to State Government agencies.

In 2003-2004, he was employed as a private consultant by LandCorp to manage the acquisitions of properties and businesses for the Western Australian Government’s  New Metro Rail CBD station in Central Perth.

Danny has a keen interest in Discounted Cash Flow modeling having developed several models to value both commercial and land subdivision projects.

 

Ian Baxter Ian Baxter - Director, Heritage Council of WA

Ian has been Director of the Heritage Council since 1992.  He is a member of the Register and Development Committees of Council.

Ian is a Heritage Council representative at the National Chairs and Officials Forum and is the Heritage Minister’s representative on the national Environment Protection Heritage Council.  He is currently also a representative on the WA Museum’s Maritime Archaeology Advisory Committee.

A registered architect, during his career Ian has worked on a wide range of Government building projects including designing and/or project managing the construction of high schools, colleges, libraries, police stations and hospitals.

From 1989-1992, Ian was Director of Asset/Regional Services Building Management Authority, responsible for the implementation of the Capital Works Program of the State Government.  Prior to this he was Manager of the BMA’s Architectural Practice, responsible for the quality of and cost effective operation of Government architectural services.

"The Changing Need for Office Space"

Dr Paul McLeod Dr. Paul McLeod - UWA Business School

Dr McLeod has had a number of senior roles at the University including, Dean Faculty of Economics and Commerce, Head, Department of Economics, Executive Dean, Faculties of Education, Economics and Commerce and Law and Dean, UWA Business School. He has been a Director of Economic Research Associates since 1988, and has been a Director of the Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC) and Allied Capital Group.

Dr McLeod’s expertise is in business economics and public policy. He has special expertise in impact analysis, cost benefit analysis, hedonic price analysis, policy evaluation and industry analysis and has published articles and reports across a wide area of applied economics. He has considerable experience of pricing, regulatory, production and asset valuation issues in Government Trading Enterprises.

 

David CrespDavid Cresp - Colliers International


David has thirteen years of experience in the Perth property market and is well regarded as Perth’s leading source of property research. David specialises in providing analysis of current and future trends within the Perth property market. In addition to providing published research reports, David has been appointed by many of Australia’s major property firms including Hawaiian Investments, Australand, LandCorp, Macquarie Bank, Lend Lease and Multiplex to provide reports on buildings and sectors of the Perth market.

David covers all sectors of the Perth commercial property market as well as having a focus on the inner city residential market and Perth residential land market. David has provided research to many of the major developers including Australand,Stockland, Mirvac Fini, Hawaiian, Urban Pacific, Cedar Woods and Multiplex. In addition to this David has prepared reports for a number of different government bodies and local councils including EPRA, LandCorp, Town of Vincent, City of Perth and City of Belmont. Increasingly David’s role is focused on providing consultancy property advice for particular projects and redevelopments.

Stephen GoldieStephen Goldie - Millenium Planning and Urban Design

Stephen Goldie has over thirty years experience in town planning and urban design, fifteen years of this at executive level. His experience ranges from large greenfield estates to complex inner city sites, from high-level policy to seemingly intractable local disputes, and from detailed urban design to complex management issues. Many of these projects have been distinguished by awards, but more importantly, more than fifty of the projects in which he has had significant involvement, are either built or being implemented.

Currently, Stephen is under contract to the Western Australian Planning Commission to deliver critical-to-government outcomes for the 100 sq km of undeveloped land in the North-west Corridor of Perth. This is involves managing seventeen interrelated planning and infrastructure projects that together will enable the north-west corridor of Perth to accommodate a further 110,000 people by 2031, and showcase world’s best practice in sustainable community building. Along with very talented Western Australian teams, Andres Duany (Duany Plater-Zyberk, Miami), Peter Calthorpe (Calthorpe and Associates, San Francisco), and David Lock (David Lock Associates, Milton Keynes) are each working on significant projects within the corridor.

 

Ross Holt Ross Holt - Chief Executive Officer, LandCorp

LandCorp is a government trading enterprise and operates as the Western Australian Government’s specialist property development agency. It provides a commercially oriented vehicle for delivering the strategic land development goals of the State.

Ross leads a dedicated team of professional staff across fields as diverse as property, business administration and strategic marketing helping LandCorp operate with a triple bottom line approach.  More than 50 per cent of its more than 200 projects throughout the State are located outside the capital city of Perth.

Resources rich Western Australia covers an area of 1million square miles – one third of the continental land mass of the Australian continent.

Under Ross's leadership, LandCorp has focussed on sustainable development outcomes for the benefit of the Western Australian community.

LandCorp has sought to extend those outcomes to the built form through the application of design and building guidelines and through joint ventures with the private sector development and building industries.

"Water - Plan for the State of Western Australia"

The Hon. John C KobelkeThe Hon. John C Kobelke B SC Dip Ed JP MLA

Minister for Police and Emergency Services; Community Safety; Water Resources; Sport and Recreation

In February 1989, John was elected to Parliament.  He has served as  Minister in a wide range of portfolios, including Water Resources, Police and Emergency Services, Sport and Recreation, Indigenous Affairs, Employmennt and Consumer Protection, Training and assisting the Minister for Public Sector Management.

Born in Perth and growing up in Bayswater, John completed his secondary schooling at Christian Brothers' High School, Highgate. He has a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Education from the University of Western Australia.

He taught science, mathematics and computing at St Louis School in Claremont, Girrawheen Senior High School, John Curtin Senior High School in Fremantle and Scarborough Senior High School.

John is very active in his local community and is patron of several sporting clubs and community organisations.

He is married with three sons.
